Holt melt extrusion for drug manufacturing

Hot melt extrusion is a manufacturing method used in pharmaceutical industry to improve the absorption of poorly soluble drug molecules.

In this project, the areas of interests include for example investigating the state of drug molecules in the polymer matrix and maintaining them in molecularly dispersed or amorphous state in the final product, investigating and modelling the effect of the drug molecule on the behavior of the melt flow during processing and defining the suitable combination of drug molecules and polymer matrix.
